Hi Guys, we are the exec, the people with the privilege of being asked to help lead the CU for the year. Sounds glamorous? Well we probably slip into thinking that sometimes, but actually like all Christian leadership it is a call to service, so we are here to serve you. That's right, we are your servants, we should be making you cups of tea and not the other way round - just like the Slashies folks! (Zoolander reference for those that wonder what on earth is going on).

So who are we and what do we do?
Evangelism Secretary - Robbie and his team co-ordinate our evangelistic events, and like the rest of the committee, aim to keep our focus as a CU on evangelism. That is not just evangelism as events, but evangelism wherever we may be, whether we be at a lunch bar or down the pub. His is either the most important role, or the most redundant we have.
Mission Chair - Heads up the team that focuses on organising our big mission focus week. In this week we put on lots of talks introducing people to who Jesus is and what he has done. This is the most intense time of mission we have as a CU, but not the only one! This year we will also have brand new funky copies of Mark's gospel to give out to every student , which is very exciting. This is part of the free project, which is very cool and worth checking out.
Prayer and Praise Secretary - Ellie and her team co-ordinate all things musical in our main meetings, as well as our prayer meetings, and will be providing weekly prayer points on our new website (not sure if she knows this yet?) They are also planning to put on some prayer and praise evenings over the course of the year. These will be great mission focused time, where we pray for mission in the university and all over the world.
Secretary (No fancy name before - she is the only real secretary among us) - If Robbie is the heart, and Alex and Lizzy should be the head, then Alison is the guns, the muscle behind anything the exec try and do. She does lots of tireless work behind the scenes keeping us organised, and making sure that everything comes together at the right place and the right time. She is great, but before we try and idolise her, she is also a vegetarian. Oh well, only Jesus was perfect.
Treasurer -If you need money to run some CU related event then Helen is the place to go, but make sure you keep that receipt. She also helps Alison with keeping us exec guys in control, and organising the admin team that do all the thankless tasks that no-one sees.
International Secretary - Pete and his team's work is focused on bringing the gospel to international students. They do a lot of work in partnership with BISC (Bristol International Student Centre) and can always do with a helping hand to make or serve food, and even better to befriend international students, and show and explain the difference that Christ has made to your life.
SLOBS (Small Groups for short) Secretary - If you are new to Bristol, then you will have a chance to get involved in a Hall CU. Please do, it is a great opportunity. Hall CUs are mini mission communities, and have regular meetings where they seek to equip and encourage one another in mission. Jack and his team help support the Hall CU leaders. They help lead them through the Bible study, and with evangelism event planning as well as making sure that they aren't working themselves into the ground.
Vice President - Helps Alex - The charming and presentable face of the CU. We, Pres. and VP, work together doing anything that the rest of the exec haven't got time to do, and hopefully providing some over all steering and leadership to keep the CU in-line with its vision. We are not important, just out of our depth.
President - Helps Lizzy - The slightly more grizzly face of CU.
